About MichaelMichael J. Kula, Esq. (“Mike”) is the son of two teachers and is the first attorney in his family. He grew up in the small town of Portville, New York, a stone’s throw from Pennsylvania. In high school, Mike was named the 1999 Spring Semester Male Expressway Conference Scholar Athlete, having combined a .463 batting average with being his class Salutatorian.
Following his graduation from Penn State Dickinson School of Law, Mike spent a year clerking for the Honorable Carol L. Van Horn in the 39th Judicial District of Pennsylvania, covering Franklin and Fulton Counties. His judicial clerkship provided him with valuable experience and insight as he transitioned to private practice with the firm of Apfelbaum, Apfelbaum & Apfelbaum in 2009. Mike co-founded Apfelbaum Kula, P.C. in 2016 with his wife, Brianna Apfelbaum Kula. From the firm's inception, Sidney Apfelbaum has been Of Counsel, and together Mike, Brianna, and Sidney have the goal of continuing the Apfelbaum family tradition of practicing law in Central Pennsylvania. When he’s not working, Mike participates in various community events and activities. He serves as Vice President for the Susquehanna River Cleanup Project and is the Master of Ceremonies for the Central Pennsylvania Rowing Association Cardboard Boat Regatta held at the Sunbury’s Revitalization, Inc.’s Annual River Festival. Mike plays softball in local leagues and tournaments, is a Boston Red Sox fan, and is a firearms enthusiast. He enjoys biking, kayaking, and traveling with his wife, along with spending time with his daughter, family, friends, dogs, and cats. |
