About MichaelMichael J. Kula, Esq. (“Mike”) is the son of two teachers and is the first attorney in his family. He grew up in the small town of Portville, New York, a stone’s throw from Pennsylvania. In high school, Mike was named the 1999 Spring Semester Male Expressway Conference Scholar Athlete, having combined a .463 batting average with being his class Salutatorian.
Following his graduation from Penn State Dickinson School of Law, Mike spent a year clerking for the Honorable Carol L. Van Horn in the 39th Judicial District of Pennsylvania, covering Franklin and Fulton Counties. His judicial clerkship provided him with valuable experience and insight as he transitioned to private practice with the firm of Apfelbaum, Apfelbaum & Apfelbaum in 2009. Mike co-founded Apfelbaum Kula, P.C. in 2016 with his wife, Brianna Apfelbaum Kula ("Brie"). From the firm's inception, Sidney Apfelbaum was Of Counsel, and together Mike, Brie, and Sidney had the goal of continuing the Apfelbaum family tradition of practicing law in Central Pennsylvania. Sidney passed away in August 2016 and Brie and Mike strive to continue the legacy bestowed upon them. When he’s not working, Mike participates in various community events and activities. He is also a Boston Red Sox fan and a firearms enthusiast. He enjoys biking, kayaking, and traveling with his wife, along with spending time with his daughter, family, friends, dogs, and cats. |
